Don’t you just love Autumn and going to the movies? There are some excellent books being made into movies and coming to a cinema near you…some of the ones I’m dying to see as I loved the books include:

Before I Go to Sleep

Gone Girl

This is Where I Leave You

This is brilliant….how many can you name?

So last weekend was all about the movies on Friday went to see The Help with my bookclub. It’s one of the very few movies that do the book justice – a definite go see and Winnie is exactly how I imagined she would be! We laughed, we cried, we thoroughly enjoyed it – it’s a truly winning movie. Think we all need an Aibileen in our lives. My sis and I were lucky enough to have one – someone to give you good advice, make you feel important and raise you right! I used to love watching old movies with her after school and she even got me to eat coddle! Have a great weekend and hope you find a good movie to escape into. Before you go let’s play guess the movie quote. I promise they are really easy!!!

Happy Flyday.

“I’m king of the world”

“We’ll always have Paris.”

“Life is like a box of chocolates”

“You had me at hello”

“I feel the need, the need for speed”

“You can’t handle the truth”

“I’ll have what she’s having”

“Frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn”

“Welcome to Hollywood! What’s your dream? Everybody comes here; this is Hollywood, land of dreams. Some dreams come true, some don’t; but keep on dreamin’ – this is Hollywood. Always time to dream, so keep on dreamin’.”

Things to make you smile…

Acclaimed director Ridley Scott is appealing to people all over the world to tell him about their lives. This coming July 24th, you’re urged to film a snippet from your life, and upload it to YouTube. On this day, you can help document a single day on earth.

He, along with director Kevin Mc Donald (The Last King of Scotland) have joined up with YouTube to create a documentary about ordinary lives over the course of one day kindda like a feature film Time Capsule. Described as “a historic global experiment to create the world’s largest user-generated feature film: a documentary, shot in a single day, by you. On July 24, you have 24 hours to capture a glimpse of your life on camera. The most compelling and distinctive footage will be edited into an experimental documentary film, executive produced by Ridley Scott and directed by Kevin Macdonald.” The filmmakers will compile user footage shot on July 24th (and subsequently uploaded to YouTube) into a feature length documentary — to be unveiled at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival in late January (as well as a bit later on YouTube). Filmmakers whose footage gets selected for the final film will be listed as one of twenty co-directors — and receive a trip to the Sundance premiere in Park City, Utah (as well as place to stay).

Ridley Scott is appealing to everyone to take part:
“There’s no excuse. You have a digital camera, go out and shoot your film, seriously. There is no excuse. If you wanna do what I do, get the camera, get some buddies, and put it together. If you wanna be a filmmaker, nothing should put you off, and nothing should put you down. Just do it.”

This must be one of those alternate realities…
