Peace comes from within. Do not seek it without. – Buddha

It’s been a busy week so thank holy hallelujah it’s finally friday….we can all breathe a sign of relief. Halloween is only round the corner. This weekend in my pursuit of inner peace, I’ve decided to try meditation. Wishing you all a weekend of inner peace.

Happy Flyday!

Today is your day to laugh at life, laugh at what’s funny – laugh at what’s sad, laugh loud – laugh often, laugh at me – laugh at you – laugh at life. – Jonathan Lockwood Huie

Aren’t the weeks flying by? Sometimes it’s nice to take a break and just breathe and that’s what the weekends are for – thank god it’s friday. It’s starting to get colder so enjoy the sunshine while it lasts. Wishing you laughter and sunshine this weekend.

Happy Flyday!

Beauty is power; a smile is its sword. ~Charles Reade

Today is World Smile Day and it’s Friday so we already have something to smile about. Wishing you all a weekend filled with smiles.

Happy Flyday!

“Joy is a net of love by which you can catch souls.” – Mother Teresa of Calcutta

Friday is a joyful day. This week was a busy one and the good thing is it flew by. This weekend I plan to take time to breathe. Focus on what makes you happy. Be your own joyologist.

Happy Flyday!

“Culture is the widening of the mind and of the spirit.” – Jawaharlal Nehru

It being Friday and culture night, let’s all immerse ourselves in some culture. I already feel very cultured having attended both Vienna Fashion Week and Mumok, Vienna’s Modern Art Museum last weekend. And to continue the culture fest this weekend back in Dublin, I’m off to the Dublin Fringe Festival tonight. Wishing you all a very cultured weekend.

Happy Flyday!

“You know that place between sleep and awake, the place where you can still remember dreaming? That’s where I’ll always love you, Peter Pan. That’s where I’ll be waiting.” – Tinkerbell

This week Friday came early for me and I’m on holidays!!! It’s Friday the 13th but let’s make this a lucky one. To flaunt superstition, I shall be flying on a jet plane! Wishing you all a weekend of faith, trust and pixie dust.

Happy Flyday!

“The Indian summer of life should be a little sunny and a little sad, like the season, and infinite in wealth and depth of tone – but never hustled” – Henry Brooks Adams

It’s the end of summer – school’s are back and the days are getting shorter. Autumn has arrived but this past week we have been enjoying the last of the sunshine before the temperature takes a nosedive and we are back to wearing jackets and turning on the heat. It was nice while it lasted. This weekend I wish you all sweet dreams as we say goodbye to summer and embrace the beautiful changing colours of autumn.

Happy Flyday!

“To read is to fly: it is to soar to a point of vantage which gives a view over wide terrains of history, human variety, ideas, shared experience and the fruits of many inquiries.” – A C Grayling, Financial Times (in a review of A History of Reading by Alberto Manguel)

Autumn is in the air and September is right around the corner – it’s getting dark earlier, the schools are back and soon summer will be but a dream. What better time to get back to reading and my bookclub is meeting up again this Saturday. Wishing you all a weekend of escapism and good books!

Happy Flyday!

“He who would learn to fly one day must first learn to stand and walk and run and climb and dance; one cannot fly into flying.” – Friedrich Nietzsche

Some weeks go on forever and this week was one of them but Friday is finally here and makes me oh so happy. So here’s to flying free for the weekend – up, up and away. Wishing you all a carefree, high flying weekend.

Happy Flyday!

“here’s your sweet lavender sixteen sprigs a penny that you’ll find my ladies will smell as sweet as any” – Lavender Sellers’s Cry, London England CA 1900

You gotta love the four-day working weeks that bank holidays bring….Friday arrives much quicker. Even better it’s the start of my week’s holidays. I’m looking forward to my mini-staycation and some extended time off work. I came across this beautiful annual lavender harvest party held in July in Kilmacanogue, Co. Wicklow. Shame it’s too late and I missed it – will have to wait till 2014. They grow lavender and other aromatic plants which we use as ingredients in many of their perfumes and toiletries. They call it their field of dreams. Nothing nicer than the smell of lavender. Wishing you all a wonderful weekend full of lavender fields.

Happy Flyday!
