For Gardening enthusiasts
Bloom @ Phoenix Park
Bloom, Ireland’s largest gardening, food and family event, will take place in the Phoenix Park Dublin during the June bank holiday weekend for 5 days (From Thursday 31st May – Monday 4th June).
Bavaria Formula One is bringing city racing to the streets of Dublin with a spectacular demonstration of the world’s most exciting motorsports on Sunday 3rd June.
For Literary nuts
Dublin Writers Festival with readings, discussions, debates,workshops, performance and screenings, the festival creates a hotbed of ideas takes place around Dublin from 4th – 10th June. One highlight is Josh Ritter discussing his book Bright Passage in Liberty Hall on Monday 4th June. The programme also has events featuring Richard Dawkins, Mike Scott, Mark Haddon and many more creative souls.
Flora Women’s Mini-Marathon, on Monday 4th June at 3pm, is the biggest all women’s event of its kind in the world. All numbers may be collected this weekend at the Womans World Show, RDS Simmonscourt, Dublin 4 on Friday 1st June 12pm-8pm, Saturday 2nd June 10am-6pm and Sunday 3rd June 11am-6pm.

It’s a busy weekend celebrating the Queen’s Jubilee, 60 years of the Queen’s reign, from the 2nd – 5th June including events like
the Big Lunch [street parties across Britain],
the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant [up to 1,000 boats assembled on the Thames],
the BBC Concert at Buckingham Palace,
the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Beacons [a network of 2,012 Beacons], and
the Service of Thanksgiving and Carriage Procession at St Paul’s Cathedral.
