Baxter News: Baxter Loves

April 27, 2010

Baxter is getting to be a big boy. He loves to play.

Just a few of his favourite things:
Baxter loves bones. He got his first bone on Sunday and loved it.

Baxter loves plant pots. He wants to be a gardener when he grows up.

Baxter loves his blankie. He’s going to be a caped crusader.

Baxter News: Caught in the Act

April 1, 2010

Baxter is such a playful puppy and he is growing so fast. Look how tiny he looks playing with his blankie just over ten days ago.

Baxter’s new favourite pastime is climbing into the dishwasher. He is getting away with murder these days as our poor puppy is sick. He has a bladder infection and we all feel incredibly sorry for him. We are hoping the antibiotics kick in today as the poor thing is miserable, not that that stops his playful antics.

Baxter News: Big ‘N’ Bold

March 21, 2010

So Baxter is getting big n bold. Look at those teeth – yep his vampire fangs are indeed getting too much use. He is taking chunks out of all of us and he gets this mad look in his little green eyes and he goes berserk. For such a small puppy, he is quite scary when he gets that manic look in his eyes. Even though he has been naughty, he is only doing what puppies do. Dunnes were selling these Shnug’s and I just had to pick one up for Baxter plus they also had a dog kit with a bowl, plastic mat, and two dog toys. They come in handy to distract him from our feet and legs.

In other news, my folks best friends fell in love with Baxter so much so that they have now adopted his brother. Meet Winston.

Can’t wait for Baxter and Winston to meet again and become best buds.

Baxter: Sleepytime

March 8, 2010

I love Baxter more than Chocolate!
He’s eight weeks old and as good as gold. He’s been with us a week now and is already settled in and ruling the roost. Think he’s pretty close to being toilet-trained and never thought we could all get so excited over poo and pee! We are praising him to high heaven.

Look who just popped up

March 3, 2010

To say hello!

He’s an inquisitive little fella. On his first day, he spent all day running between the house and the garden – new unexplored territory for a little puppy. He located the drainpipe and upset his little tummy drinking the soapy water. Also he loves being picked up and fell asleep on my lap last night.

Baxter’s Home

March 2, 2010

Meet Baxter – isn’t he a cutie?

We welcomed Baxter home last night. He’s such a character already roaming around investigating and chewing up Dad’s slippers [yep he's a cliche]. We just stared at him until he fell asleep. He’s seven weeks old already and last night was his first night on his own without his brothers and sisters. I think he is enjoying the individualised attention and loves to be picked up. He fell asleep in my sister’s arms before she deposited him in his own bed and when I left he was stretched out and dead to the world. I think he settled in really well. We are all besotted.

Baxter News

February 5, 2010

So progress on the Baxter front is all good, four weeks old and getting pretty big. He opened his little chocolate brown eyes at the ripe old age of fourteen days. Apparently he’s a sleeper and quite a bully when it comes to food – you go boy! He is just so cute – can’t wait to get my hands on him.

Meet Baxter

January 22, 2010

He’s only 12 days old today and as cute as a button. Baxter is an English Springer Spaniel. He’s our new shared care puppy – well he’s really my folks new puppy but I will have him on weekends and holidays and puppy-sit while they are away. I have been hounding them (getit?) for years to get a dog but they were having none of it. Our family dog, Misty, a beautiful Cocker Spaniel had to be put down after 12 years and we mourned her like we had lost a member of the family. We cried all the way through ‘How to lose a guy in 10 days’. That was in 2004 and Dad was adamant that they wouldn’t get another dog till now.

We have to wait another six-eight weeks before he comes home but I for one cannot wait to get my hands on this bundle of furry cuteness and give him a big cuddle. Lots more photos to follow – am sure he’ll become my new best subject.
